Pinellas County: Pinellas County offices to be closed for Thanksgiving

Pinellas County issued the following announcement on November 22.

Pinellas County Government offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26, in observance of Thanksgiving. This includes departments under the Board of County Commissioners, Clerk’s Office, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser and Supervisor of Elections.

Parks & Conservation Resources

County parks and the outdoor areas of the County preserves will be open on Thursday, Nov. 25 and, except for Fort De Soto Park, closed on Friday, Nov. 26. The Parks & Conservation Resources administrative offices will be closed both days, as will Heritage Village, the Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center and the Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center.

Fort De Soto Park and campgrounds, County boat ramps and County beach access areas will be open on both days. Beach and boat ramp parking permits can be purchased online.

Human Services and Veterans Services

Pinellas County Human Services and Veterans Services office locations will be closed.

Building Services

Pinellas County Building Services office locations will be closed, and inspections will not be taking place.

Sixth Judicial Circuit courts

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

Solid Waste Disposal Facility

The Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25; it will open Friday, Nov. 26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26; it will open Saturday, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The Solid Waste Administration Building will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26; it will open Monday, Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Animal Services shelter

The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed.
