11,854 residents die of stroke in Florida in 2016

There were 11,854 Florida residents who died of stroke in 2016, a 3.7 percent increase over the previous year, according to data obtained from the National Center for Health Statistics.

In 2015, 11,433 Florida residents died of stroke.

The National Center for Health Statistics is the nation’s primary health statistics agency. The CDC and other health-related organizations can use NCHS data for a variety of ends.
